"The sound design by Jonathan Hatton & Mark Zuckerman nicely balanced the vocals and band, so the diction and musical buildups could be heard effortlessly and clearly."

"Mark Zuckerman's sound design provides the concert production with an aural power that is often lacking in theater productions in Music City; in fact, we've stopped paying much attention to sound design here because it is quite often so disappointing. Thankfully, Zuckerman knows what he is doing and succeeds in allowing every word spoken and every lyric sung to be heard."

Never before has Smoke on the Mountain been in a more perfect setting than the beautifully serene and historic sanctuary of Franklin First Methodist (which was founded in 1799). The building's acoustics, augmented by Mark Zuckerman's superb sound design, provide the right amount of "churchiness" that ensures the play's message of love, hope, charity, forgiveness and redemption is profoundly felt.
